A guarantor is someone who agrees to cover your rent (and sometimes damage) if you can't pay. It gives the landlord reassurance, which is common when tenants are students with limited income history.
Who can be a guarantor?
Usually a parent or close relative who is a UK homeowner or in stable employment, and who passes a basic affordability check. They sign a guarantee agreement alongside your tenancy.
